About
The Logistics Performance Indicators 2.0 (LPI 2.0) is an interactive benchmarking tool created to help countries identify the challenges and opportunities they face in their performance on trade logistics and what they can do to improve performance. The LPI 2.0 measures the speed and connectivity of international supply chains across the world based on supply chain tracking data collected and made available by several data partners. The indicators cover different logistics modes (aviation, maritime, postal) and are derived from actual movements of air cargo, containers, and parcel shipments via postal services. Data for the LPI 2.0 is available covering 2023 and 2024.
Previous editions of the LPI (2007 to 2023) were based on a worldwide survey of international logistics operators (global freight forwarders and express carriers) who provided feedback on the logistics “friendliness” of their trading partner countries. Historical results for the survey-based LPI are available here. The survey-based LPI is not updated anymore beyond the 2023 edition.
The LPI 2.0 consists of twenty-one country-level indicators, including six core indicators and fifteen supplementary indicators. The LPI 2.0 does not include a single country ranking but allows users to rank countries based on each of the twenty-one indicators, which provides a more nuanced view of logistics performance.
